OK, it's possible to get to this station if you're heading south. But we maintain that coming north out of the Financial District, you must portage along the Park Row plaza. Or risk slamming into a performance artist. Or Brooklyn Bridge-bound vehicles. Or maybe even worse.

You can take the bike lane across the Brooklyn Bridge if running the rapids, rippled with protoplasmic boulders, is your thing.

We learned a lesson as we sat on a nearby bench and watched two skateboarders kick the front tire of every bike to see if they could find one that wasn't securely docked. They looked like they knew what they were doing.
