The New York Post made much recently of one third of the bike fleet being sidelined for repairs. But the number of available bikes has hovered between 4000 and 3300 all summer. Whatever the number in the shop, there’s been no “shortage” of bikes on the street or we’d see a spike in empty stations. And we haven’t.
